WHERE DID TIME COME FROM?
Time is a measurement. if only we could measure our own time! Benjamin Franklin said 'Time is Money'. Was he right or wrong? It all depends on your point of view doesn't it. Time is what it is and if you know what a thing is you also know what it isn't. So what is time really?
If time is a measurement what does it measure? Lets ask a few questions. How did God make day and night? How did he make spring, summer, autumn and winter? We know exactly when it is daytime and nighttime don’t we? We know when it is spring, summer, autumn and winter. We know exactly what time it is, what day it is, what year it is and what century it is. How do we know all these things? We know them because they are here and there and everywhere. Wherever we stay or go they are there, and we cannot go anywhere without them. So time is not just an invention. It belongs to days, weeks, months and years and to the days of our lives.
.
GOD MADE A TIME WORLD
God made a world that was orderly. He put things were they belonged, where they went and obeyed his commands. He made the sun, the moon and the stars and set them in the sky to separate the day from the night, the months from the years and the seasons one from another. This was the fourth stage of making the world.
THE SUN
He made the sun to give light and heat to the earth. He set it in the sky, a great fiery ball, much bigger than the earth. He set it in one place just like we make a fire and keep it in the fireplace so that it won’t burn the house down! He placed the sun 149,597,870 km away from the earth, just the right distance to provide heat without destroying the earth with fire, and just the right distance to give light to the earth.
THE EARTH’S ORBIT
He then set the earth in motion to go round the sun every 365 days, or one year. So the earth began its journey without alteration from that time until now. A day is the time it takes for the earth to turn round as it moves through the sky. God commanded the earth to turn round just like a top so that one half would face the sun and the other half would face the stars as it moves through the sky. When one half faces the sun it is day and when the other half faces the moon and stars it is night. So that is how God made night and day.
HOW GOD MADE TIME
And that is how God made time. Tick tock time is a measurement of how long it takes for the earth to turn towards and away from the sun. Our clocks are set to this rotation and movement. The earth is always turning round upon itself just like a top or a ball that is made to spin round. It always turn round at the same speed so we know that if our clocks are set to this speed we know the time of day or night.
THE SEASONS OF THE YEAR
As the earth moves around the sun it also tilts either towards or away from the sun. So the earth that tilts closer to the sun is warmer because it is closer to the sun’s heat and the earth that tilts further away from the sun is cooler or colder. That is how God made spring, summer, autumn and winter.
LIGHT
Light is very precious. God made the light to shine during the day when we need to study, learn and work, enjoy our lives and see what we are doing and where we are going, but God also made some light for us to see at night so that we would not be afraid of the dark but also so that we might see the stars which are so beautiful and give a little light to the earth.
GOD’S PURPOSE IN MAKING LIGHT, HEAT, MOVEMENT AND TIME
God made everything for us. He made the sun to give light and heat so that we can see, so that grass and food would grow for us to eat and be healthy, and time so that we might know when to plan the future, what we want to do today and tomorrow. And he did all this through movement and mathematics. He made laws that we cannot see to make everything work precisely as he commanded it to do. That is why we should love God and obey him, do what is right and good, for he loves us dearly.
ANOTHER TIME
God made another time that does not depend on the the earth or the sun. He made a time in our souls. He made us able to know the past, the present and the future which we can visit in out imagination and in our past. That kind of time is not mechanical like a clock but spiritual and immortal. We actually live above time and beyond it.
